So, I got some tragic news yesterday(for me, anyway). I took Bristol to the dentist yesterday, and guess what? Tons of cavities! In between all of his teeth! So many, that the dentist said we need to go to a surgical center so they can all be done at once! Yikes! One of them is so bad he is going to need a cap on it, it is almost to the root. All of this happened in the six months since his last visit. He had watches on them, they just moved so fast. I am having a hard time. I take such good care of his teeth! He brushes them at least twice a day, we floss every night, he uses a fluoride rinse, and he takes vitamins with fluoride in them. The dentist said he just has weak enamel. I feel so bad. I know there are kids out there who don't take care of their teeth and their teeth are fine. It is not fair!!! The scariest part for me is that he has to be put out... :( I am nervous. I am sure everything will be fine, maybe this will help. Hopefully.
Some more sad news, Bristol didn't win the contest :( Thanks everyone for voting! Maybe we will win something some day...

i'm so sorry.. i had this same experience with adi about 2 years ago.. she had to be put out and it was very traumatic for me.. when we were done, i called davy from the car crying, with my little gal zonked in the back seat.. this was also when they pulled her 2 front teeth.. 2 caps.. not fun.. she and chels both had/have basically NO enamel on their baby teeth.. somehow savannah's were great! yay! 1/3.. not fun stuff!!

that stinks! at least you try to take good care of his teeth. everything will be o.k. though... maybe he will even say some funny stuff... i remember them laughing at me when they knocked me out for my wisdom teeth. =)
ugh! I hate teeth! I can't beleive how fast things happen in 6 months. sounds like Bristol has teeth like mine. I am sure he will do fine :)
I HATE the dentist. I have to have 2 fillings tomorrow and maybe another root canal. I think he gets his bad teeth from our family, because my teeth are bad and I try my best to take care of them.
Poor guy, we will keep him in our prayers.
I feel for you. Once I took Madi to the dentist and it was such bad news that I actually cried right in front of the dentist. I felt like the worlds most horrible mother. He assured me that things like this happen all the time but his assurance didn't really help. We had to take her in to the surgical center and have 11 teeth pulled right out because they were in such bad shape. Two of the teeth were not planned but she ran into the ironing board the night before the surgery and knocked them loose. She did great in surgery and I am sure Bristol will too. He is a tough little guy.
I'm sorry Ter. I know how much teeth mean to you :) I can't believe that his teeth don't just ache. I know from experience how bad they hurt with no enamel (stupid lemons). Let me know if you need me to come hold your hand when he has it taken care of. Love ya friend.
